PICKING UP AT A TERMINAL: If you’re picking up at a terminal, you’ll want to bring a hammer or something to pry with. Most terminals will let you dispose of your crating there but be prepared if they require you take it with you. You can watch the owners un-crating video (sent by email when you purchase) to see how get it ready to put on the road. You’ll need a 1 7/8th ball on your vehicle and a 4 wire flat hook up for lights.
It will take about 20 minutes approximately to uncrate and prepare for transportation. Usually the crate is too big for most pickups. Crates average 48 inches in length, 53 inches in width and up to 94 inches high. It’s always better to plan on un-crating at the location delivered.
You are not alone and there really are no stupid questions. Ben has made a list of the top ten questions he gets asked here. Click Here.
The Hot Dog Mafia is a buyers club for vendors and other manufacturers:
If you are pulling your cart home, then you’ll probably not need a tag. TN doesn’t require a tag on trailers and you’ll have all the paperwork showing your purchase from a state that doesn’t require this. We’ve never had a customer have an issue with pulling the cart home without a tag.
If you must have a tag before pulling home or would just feel better about it, please make sure your purchase is paid in full online. Send [email protected] and email request and we can send the paperwork by mail so that you can pre-register your new cart.
Yes. Our carts are DOT approved and can be pulled home. Keep in mind that the cart tires turn much faster than your vehicle tires do and this can cause heat build up. If you’re traveling hundreds of miles, I would either stop often, at least each gas fill up and check the condition of the hubs. If they are too hot. Let them cool before continuing.
I have hauled my Big Dog from TN to FL 4 times now, I’ve hauled it to Myrtle Beach, Charlotte, VA, KY and others with no issues. All in all, it is always better on the equipment if you trailer your cart or load it into a pick up bed, but it’s not necessary.
The big dog comes with 4 and if the cash cow is ordered with a water system it will include 4 sinks also. Every state has different rules regarding sinks. Check with your health department first. if your state requires less sinks, just simply tell us in the comment section while ordering. If you need say 3 sinks, we will make one sink larger and then two standard sinks.
We use a broker who accesses over 9 carriers. There are terminals all over the country but we do not have the list. Usually the furthest we will schedule a terminal pick up is within 45 minutes of your home address. (see this info and more on our shipping page)
